I was diagnosed with Stage 2B Cervical Adenocarcinoma when I was 38 years-old and just finishing 9 years of training as a veterinarian. My husband and I were moving to Wisconsin to bring the first dialysis service for animals to the state of Wisconsin. When we met with the amazing team at the UW Carbone Cancer Center, we knew this was another challenge we could get through together. We would not let cancer stop us from having a family and achieving all our hopes and dreams. I fought and lived for my passion of veterinary medicine, appreciative clients, and the future tail wags of my patients.

Throughout my cancer diagnosis and treatment, the outpouring of support from friends and family has been incredibly empowering, uplifting and strengthening.  The community of women I’ve found in sharing my cancer journey has been an incredible and unexpected gift that cancer has given me. No matter what else is going on reminding my community that women’s health matters!!!
